High blood pressure or we can call it hypertension is a condition in which the diameter of the blood vessels all over the body is made smaller by contraction of the muscles in the walls of these vessels.
This condition can make our blood pressure elevated. The cause can be many such as : when the person is excited or nervous.
High Blood Pressure put extra strain to our heart making it work harder trying to pump the blood throughout our body. In prolonged time, it can lead to the dysfunction of the kidney then eventually lead to heart attack and stroke.
High Blood Pressure Score
When your blood pressure 140/90 or higher then you consider having high blood pressure. If your score is in this level or higher then it is urgent to take action to control your blood pressure What causes high blood pressure?
There are many factors that may contribute such as improper diet, smoking, stress, genetic and consumption of stimulants such as coffee and tea can potentially increase the risk of having high blood pressure.

As we know, many people often depend on herbal remedies and aromatherapy to solve health problems. And because the oils are not "medicine", you don’t have to stick to a time table for applying the oils. Isn’t it great that you can find a natural way to cure your diseases?
Jolanta Basnyet, an aromatherapist conducted study at UK to reveal the connection between high blood pressure and essential oils.
20 patients divided into 2 groups. Both groups recieve 5 treatments in 45 minutes each time for over 6 weeks.
The 1st group received aromatherapy treatments using synergy blends and massage.
The synergy blends that she use contain: 15 ml of unrefined grapeseed oil with 1 drop of each Ylang-ylang, Marjoram and Clary sage essential oils.
The massage techniques were effleurage (stroking), gentle friction, petrissage (kneading), feathering and vibration
The 2nd group received the same massage technique but without the essential oils.
For reducing the blood pressure score.... the 1st group is 70% while the 2nd group is 60%
For improving their pulse rate.....the 1st group is higher and more constant than in 2nd group
Both group has a significant improve in lowering blood pressure but using essentil oils will have more success than not using it.

Aromatherapy helps support the treatment by inducing relaxation and calm through baths and massages.
With the same effect as studies in UK, you may want a night bath to reduce blood pressure. Combine 3 drops of Ylang ylang, 2 drops of Clary Sage, and a drop of Marjoram essential oil. Add it to a tub filled with warm water. Soak in the bath for up to 20 minutes. You may repeat this daily or as necessary.
The use of massage on yourself or even if applied by your own massage therapist in a frequency of one to two times in a day will help too.
Dilute 4 drops of lavender, 4 drops of ylang ylang, a drop of Melissa and neroli essential oil to 1 ounce of carrier oil. Store in a bottle and shake well before use.
Disperse diffuser blend at your home or workplace or a direct sniff from the bottle will help induce that much needed calm to not trigger increase in blood pressure.
Combine 15 drops of clary sage, 10 drops of lavender, 6 drops of ylang ylang and 4 drops of marjoram essential oil to air tight container. Put some of the mixture to the diffuser or the lamp bowl and disperse as needed.
Note that there are essential oils may trigger an increase in blood pressure. And if you have high blood pressure you should avoid these essential oils: peppermint, pine, rosemary, sage, thyme and hyssop.
