What is aromatherapy and anxiety ?

Anxiety is a feeling of unease. The situation is like when you having exam or having an interview for a job that you desperate want. Those situation are called mild anxiety and It’s normal to feel anxious when facing something difficult,

The psychological symptoms can include: insomnia, feeling worried, tired and anger. Excessive anxiety is often associated with other mental health problems, such as depression.

Aromatherapy is about using essential oils that will provide the therapeutic benefit to a person suffering from anxiety.

How aromatherapy and anxiety connected ?

Aromatherapy can help in many ways, For example, when you are feeling afraid, you can enjoy the physical and emotional benefits provided by an aromatic bath. By bathing in tranquil and nerve calming herbs, you can fight fear naturally and release tension and anxiety. Or you can create a massage to relax your muscle and also gain for your psychological benefits.

Using aromatherapy is only help the patient for their psychological effect only such as help to relax ,have a better sleep, and regain their strength from their hectic day. But you still have to take a medicine and take a councelling session to make it better. Please consult to your doctors for these treatment.

What essential oils for aromatherapy and anxiety used ?

Essential oils bring calmness and balance without negative side effects. Essential oils used are :

Recipe for aromatherapy and anxiety.

Another way of relaxing and getting rid of anxiety is through massage. The feel of your body gently being massaged helps to relieve tension and can leave you feeling so refreshed. To make your own delightful massage oil, use six drops orange essential oil, six drops of Clary Sage along with three drops of Frankincense. Mix these essential oils with 1 ounce carrier oil, and enjoy the massage.

For Relaxing Bath :

You can add 10 drops of Roman Chamomile to a hot bath for a relaxing and soothing bath. Soak for at least 20 minutes to have a maximum benefit.

Blend # 1 for massage :

  • 2 tablespoons Almond Oil
  • 12 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 6 drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
  • 4 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil

Blend # 2 for massage :

This blend can be applied after you take a relaxing bath.

  • 1 tablespoon Apricot Oil
  • 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
  • 3 drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
  • 2 drops Bergamot Essential Oil

Aromatherapy and anxiety blend for air diffuser or oil burner :

These blends can make a relaxing and calming environment. You can relax and play your favorite music.

Blend # 1 for calming anxiety

  • 3 drops bergamot essential oils
  • 2 drops lavender essential oils
  • 1 drops frankincense

Blend # 2 for calming anxiety

  • 2 drops bergamot essential oils
  • 2 drops lavender essential oils
  • 2 drops Roman Chamomile

Aromatherapy as with any primary or complementary therapy, the benefits will vary with individuals. From my experience, I consider it well worth trying.
