My hair grows slowly, what essential oils can I put into my shampoo & conditioner to assist my hair to grow faster.

Essential oils for slow hair growth

Hi Natalie,

Essential oils that may strengthen hair follicles and stimulate growth are Cedarwood atlas (Cedrus atlantica), Palmarosa (Cymbopogon martini), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Thyme (Thymus vulgaris), Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), and Ylang Ylang Complete (Cananga odorata).

I'm not certain how effective it would be to put the essential oils in your shampoo, but it may help to put them in your conditioner, massage into your scalp, and leave it on your hair for 10-20 minutes before rinsing to allow sufficient time for the oils to absorb into your scalp.

Use any combination of oils you prefer, just don't add more than 1 teaspoon total (that will be about 100 drops) of essential oils per 8 ounces of conditioner.

If you are pregnant or breast feeding, do not use any of these oils except for Ylang Ylang Complete, and cut back to 50 drops.

Do not use Rosemary if you have asthma, epilepsy or high blood pressure.

Do not use Thyme if you have high blood pressure.

Do not use Yarrow if you have asthma.
