Rosemary also known as Rosmarinus Oficinalis is a popular essential oil source. The essential oil is extracted from the foliage of this plant through steam distillation. A pound of this essential oil may require a few dozens of pounds in raw materials.

This essential oil is characterized by a fresh yet herby scent. It is clear in appearance and their chemical component includes pinene that is a stimulant to the body. Rosemary has been widely used around the world as a common herb in the kitchen for coking, not only, but also in aromatherapy. Subsequently this odor will transition to a more woody balsamic scent. Further in time the scent will be reduced to herbaceous and clean end.

There are byproducts of this source that is inferior in grade and those are notably with camphoraceous scent which is not pleasant and is not comparable to the high-grade Rosemary oil.
