NOW Essential Oils Review

NOW is a very popular company for food and natural products. You can find a wide range of products on offer from this company like anti oxidants, amino acids, glucose, green foods, herbal teas, etc.

One of the more popular products from NOW is the essential oils. The primary reason for their popularity is that they smell decent and the come for attractive prices too.

When you go shopping for essential oil from NOW, you would be surprised by the variety that they have. Interestingly you can find almost all kinds of essential oils on their portfolio. So if you read about some real good combination of oils for something and want to get the ingredients for the aromatherapy session, look no further than NOW, you should have your answer.

On the flip side though when you look at NOW essential oil reviews online, you will find many people complaining about the products saying that they are not truly essential oils and contain some additives.

What grade is now essential oils?

All this may make you wonder, how good are the NOW essential oils, if there was a grading system what grade would you give these oils? Well unfortunately, there are no official grading systems for essential oils. The only way to grade any oil is to check if it is 100% pure or not.

For NOW essential oils, many of their products are made from 100% pure sources. If you visit their site, you can get detailed information on what does pure sources mean. Then why do people find differences in products from different producers.

Well the answer lies in two points which NOW states clearly in its site.

First is that some of the essential oils can be derived from different sources. For example the Rose oil from NOW is derived from Rosa centifolia flowers that grow in Morocco.

If you purchase the same oil from another producer, it would smell different as they may be using a different source. So it doesnt mean that NOW oil is sub standard. It is 100% pure, however, the source is different.

There is one important point about NOW that you must know though. Not all its oils are made from 100% pure natural sources. There are certain specific oils where NOW is experimenting with synthetic additives to enhance the mild natural aroma to give you that additional impact. In such cases, NOW clearly mentions that the product contains synthetic additions.

So yes not all NOW oils are made from 100% pure natural oils, but you can easily identify which ones are not 100% natural. For example the Jasmine oil from NOW clearly states Scented Oil. This is a clear indication that this is not a pure and natural extract alone. Similarly they have a Rose Absolute Oil Blend. Here again there are two distinct indications that it is not 100% pure. Rose Absolute in itself is a blend, besides the oil itself is termed as a blend.

According to their site, Now essential oils are also tested by Gas Chromatography. But I am not sure if you can get the report.

In my opinion, if you get a good deal from them, then they are truly worth a try.
