Essential Oil Diffuser : Nebulizer Aromatherapy

What is nebulizer aromatherapy ?

Nebulizer is a device that used to turn liquid into a fine spray. It changes liquid into a mist form which can be inhaled through mouth or nose. Usually nebulizer is used in treating respiratory diseases such like asthma or allergies. Nebulizer can be safely used on babies or children who are having a lot of trouble breathing. Nebulizer is also known as an atomizer.

A nebulizer aromatherapy is designed just to be used for aromatherapy benefit. It can disperse essential oils to scent a room or to provide an inhalant that can relieve pain, alter moods or offer healing properties to recipients. Only the smallest molecules of the Essential Oils are dispersed through the glass of the nebulizer. Many aromatherapists state that using an Aromatherapy Nebulizing Diffuser is the best way to receive the full physical benefits of the Essential Oils.

Please remember that Aromatherapy Nebulizer or Aromatherapy nebulizer is design just to be used for aromatherapy benefit. It can’t be used for other treatment such like asthma and allergies. For health problems, I recommended you use medical nebulizer.

How does nebulizer aromatherapy work?

A nebulizer diffuses aroma molecules of essential oils into the air. Essential oil is forced through a specially designed nebulizer jet by an air pump to atomize it into a micro-fine mist. It then passes through a special diffuser glass helping it disperse quickly and evenly throughout the room where you can inhale the mist into the lungs for its therapeutic benefits to take effect.

An aromatherapy nebulizer is used by many aroma therapists as it is very easy to use and it breaks down oils into separate molecules making it easier for the aroma to be inhaled. It is recommended for emotional and mental health as well as for diseases affecting the respiratory system.

It is suggested to use cold air essential oil diffuser to avoid damaging the fragile essential oil. The fragile essential oils remain most effective if they are not heated as they are diffused.

What are the advantages using nebulizer aromatherapy ?

Nebulizer by far is the most effective and easiest way to disperse essential oils in the air. I know some of pure essential oils are very expensive, so you don’t want to be wasting them, right? By using nebulizer you will get the maximum therapeutic benefit as compared with other types of diffusers. This is because nebulizer can break the oils down into smaller molecules. Approximately about 5 ml of essential oils can be used all day and all night, non-stop. Of course it depends on your room area.

Some nebulizers can cover up to 1000 square feet. They can fill a much larger area than flame or electric heat diffusers. Thus they ensure that the essential oils’ particles stay in the air for longer periods of time. Imagine how much oils you have to use if you use other type of diffuser.

Some of nebulizers come with programmable timer, so you can set the time to fit your daily activities. It’s very easy to use and yet give you a therapeutic benefit.

Of course you have to be careful not break the glass piece. Although some companies provide the replacement glass of nebulizer, they are very expensive to buy.

Nebulizer gives you a great benefit but there is one more thing to consider, you have to clean the glass immediately after you use it. Cleaning is also recommended while changing from one essential oil to another.

How to Clean off the nebulizer aromatherapy ?

The injector (curved capillary) can clog if traces of essential oil are allowed to sit in the glass nebulizer for long periods of time. So it is suggested to empty glass nebulizer as soon as you have finished using it.

  • Add about 15ml (1/2 ounce) of alcohol to the nebulizer.
  • Diffuse the alcohol in the nebulizer a few minutes.
  • Empty any remaining alcohol from nebulizer.
  • Run nebulizer empty for a few minutes to dry.
  • Soak overnight in alcohol if clogging persists.

Do not use viscous oils such as Patchouli, Vetiver, Sandalwood or any fatty oils like Almond or Jojoba as they will clog the tiny parts of the nebulizer.

Recommended Nebulizer :

This nebulizer can cover up to 500 square feet and also has great advantages as mentioned above. Each Nebulizer comes complete as pictured, and includes directions and care instructions. Replacement glass is available in case of accidents. Simply pour in the oil of your choice into the glass cylinder and turn it on!
