  • Are you not able to focus on things at hand for long time?
  • Do you feel alone and lonely even when you are with your near and dear ones?

  • Has your weight fluctuated significantly?

If you answer yes to more than half of these questions, you could be suffering from clinical depression. The best solution to this is to take some anti-depressant pills to help you come out of the feeling. Of course, you must make sure that you do make that a habit of taking pills all the time.

Here is a free stress test to check if you are overly stressed in your life. Again observe your behaviour over the past two weeks and answer these questions:

  • Are you always thinking about negative thoughts?
  • Is focussing on a thing for long a problem?
  • Do you get agitated quickly and easily?
  • Do you suffer from neck pain and headaches regularly?
  • Do have a tendency to grind your teeth?
  • Do you get bouts of overwhelming anxiety or depression?
  • Do you indulge in excessive smoking, drinking or arguing?
  • Have you lost the appetite for small pleasures in your life?
  • Do you experience flashes of anger over a minor problem?

If your answer is yes to many of these questions, you are under a lot of stress. You need to cut down on the stress factors.

Next let us look at free stress test for anxiety and determine your level of stress

  • Do you experience shortness of breath, heart palpitation or shaking while at rest?
  • Do you have a fear of losing control or going crazy?
  • Do you avoid social situations because of fear?
  • Do you have fears of specific objects?
  • Do you fear that you will be in a place or situation from which you cannot escape?
  • Do you feel afraid of leaving your home?
  • Do you have recurrent thoughts or images that refuse to go away?
  • Do you feel compelled to perform certain activities repeatedly?
  • Do you persistently relive an upsetting event from the past?

If you answer yes to these questions then you are suffering from anxiety problems.

Regardless of what you stress factor is, depression, anxiety or just a lot of stress are all harmful to your health and life. Stress affects us emotionally, mentally and even physiologically too. Stress can lead to changes in chemical balance in your body which can cause many complications including cancer.

The best cure to stress is avoiding it completely. People generally get stressed when they take up something that they cannot handle properly. So you must first know your limits and try to stick within them as much as possible. You obviously need to work hard to build a great career in your profession, but not at the cost of your health and absolutely not at the cost of your family and friends.

Stress is unavoidable in modern lifestyle, but you can always learn to tackle it better. If you let it get to you it can affect your personal, emotional and social life adversely. Always be cognizant about the ill effects of stress and take necessary action to avoid or control it.
