Benefits of Lavender Oils

upurea - your destination for organic & natural beautyFor a number of years I have had problems with headache pain, muscle aches, and insomnia. After seeking treatment in various guises including the medical community, I have found the use of aromatherapy to be beneficial in aiding the management of these issues.

The use of aromatherapy has proven helpful in many other areas as well, although I haven’t experienced them yet. Scientific research proves that aromatherapy can be used to reduce food cravings, lower intensity of headaches, and relieve specific types of muscle fatigue.

In the bath, I routinely use essential oils both in the water and in the air including lavender, chamomile, and rose oils to relax and rejuvenate my body and spirit. Perhaps the use of the essential oils is superficial in this instance, however in conjunction with a warm bath, I notice a marked decrease in muscle pain for the next 36-48 hours after the bath.

In the bedroom I have essential oil of lavender with reed diffusers on my bedside table. Since beginning the use of this oil, I’ve found that I sleep more soundly, wake less often, and I’ve actually begun having dreams during my sleep – something I’ve not experienced in years!

I strongly believe that if a person has minor physical ailments such as muscle fatigue or insomnia, aromatherapy is an inexpensive alternative to try before moving on to other, more invasive, medical procedures such as medication.

Most aromatherapy items are readily available and very inexpensive, whether in the form of oil, candles, or incense. Much better than a doctor visit in my opinion!
