Aromatherapy for Depression

Aromatherapy Treatment >> Aromatherapy for Depression

Depression is a psychological condition that changes how you think and feel. You'll feel sad, hopeless and lose interest in life. It's natural to feel like this after a particular sad event, but it becomes chronic if this feeling persist and refuse to disappear.

Common symptom of depression is reduced appetite resulting in weight loss or increased appetite resulting in weight gain. Some people may even experience headaches, constipation and general aches and pains.

Depression can affect anyone. Once identified, most people diagnosed with depression are successfully treated. Unfortunately, depression is not always diagnosed, because many of the symptoms mimic physical illness, such as sleep and appetite disturbances. Recognizing depression is the first step in treating it.

There are a lot of alternative medicine out there that you can use to relieve and also prevent your depression, and aromatherapy is one of the alternative therapy to solve the problems.

Essential oils for depression.

There are a lot essential oils for depression but mostly people will use : immortelle, geranium, frankincensen , lavender, lemon, orange, jasmine, vetiver, rosemary and ylang ylang.

Recommend essential oils are

  • Rose Otto has a soothing effect on the emotions, particularly sadness and grief cause by bereavement. It lifts the heart and gives a positive feeling of tender loving care.

"Aromatherapy for Depression" is taken from Aromatherapy solutions by Veronica Sibley. This is a good book where you can find solutions from common ailments to emotions problems. Recommended for everyone.

Here is complete guidance on blending the oils and choosing the right ones to relieve a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms, from colds to digestive disorders, from skin breakouts to anxiety. An illustrated full-body massage sequence practically guides your hand, stroke by stroke, through a sensual massage. There are also massages meant for babies and children, and to aid relaxation. For quick reference, a directory sets out the properties of all the recommended essential and carrier oils.
