Learn How to Use Aromatherapy For Bronchitis Relief

Getting someone to quit smoking is one of the hardest things to do. But some people are saying that aromatherapy can provide a positive influence when you are trying to stop smoking.


Aromatherapy, with the help of essential oils, can change moods and can induce a feeling of calm that help relieve some of the effects of nicotine addiction. Some say that when craving for a cigarette, one can inhale some essential oil blends to help alleviate the need to smoke.

You can use Aromatherapy for bronchitis relief. Here are the essential oils that most commonly used in the treatment of bronchitis:

  • Eucalyptus
  • Fir
  • Hyssop
  • Lavender
  • Myrtle
  • Pine
  • Spruce

Bronchitis is medical condition termed due of the inflammation of the bronchioles of the lungs. Cough is a symptom of this respiratory ailment however coughing does not diagnose a person as one with bronchitis. The common interventions for bronchitis, as it is commonly caused by infection, are antibiotics. But there are herbal remedies that may be used in treating bronchitis.

This treatment will include:

Bronchitis : chest infection followed by cold or flu

Combine of 4 drops of tea tree essential oil and 4 drops of atlas cedarwood. This blend may be used twice in a day and may also ba applied through chest rubs to increase efficacy.

The blend of essential oils good for chest rubs on people with bronchitis is a combination of 5 drops of tea tree oil, 5 drops of eucalyptus and then 20 ml of grapeseed oil.

By mixing all the essential oil components you now have the blend for the chest rub. The recommended amount for topical application is half a teaspoon.

For Dry cough : sore, tickly, and non productive

The blend of 2 drops of sandalwood essential oil and 4 drops of atlas cedarwood oil is a good combination to treat dry cough that is non-productive, sore and having that feathery feeling in the throat. This blend is best used when inhaled. This may be routinely done morning and night.

Mucousy cough : clear white or greenish discharge

  • 4 drops of tea tree oil
  • 4 drops of eucalyptus oil
  • 2 drops of peppermint oil
  • 20 ml sweet almond oil

Use blend is to make a chest rub. Apply half a teaspoonful to the chest at morning and night.
