Aromatherapy Essential Oils Lavender

Mountain Rose Herbs. A herbs, health and harmony cMy most common use of aromatherapy is the popular lavender scent. I like to make my own room spray with it. I find that using this scent helps me sleep a little more sound at night.

To make the room spray I use an old spray bottle since I think I might as well try to do something good for the environment as the same time I am doing something good for my body. Such as hairspray comes in or the like and I wash it out thoroughly.

It is very important that it is clean and free of the scent of what was in it originally. Then I fill it about halfway full of distilled water. I find that if I use plain tap water that it will take on a musty smell quicker than if I were to use distilled water. I then add either a large amount of dried lavender sprigs to the water or I add just a few drops, no more than 4-5 drops, to the water. I give it a good shake to mix it well and TADA! I have my own room scent.

I have found that if I use the dried sprigs that it is best to let them soak in the water at least 4-5 hours before using. To use the spray I simply gently mist the room with it paying close attention to the pillow cases, bed coverings, and furniture upholstery.

Then I let the water evaporate leaving behind the calming peaceful scent of lavender.
