Anger in a child

My 8 year old grandson has just been diagnosed with ADHD. However, recently he has shown a great deal of anger and has now been excluded from school for kicking another boy because this boy wouldn't give him a ball. This is the second time he has kicked this particular child.

What I would like to know is do you think aromatherapy oils would help his anger. I am a complementary therapist but I don't know about treating anger, especially in one so young. My daughter is at her wits end and as she is a single parent, it is very hard for her. Any help you could give will be appreciated.

Aromatherapy for ADHD

The beauty of aromatherapy is that it's even safe for children.

You can check some of essential oils that are recommend for ADHD in here

If that doesn't help, Lugol's Solution (Iodine) is also very effective, and useful for a number of things.

Thank you for suggestions for oils to help with ADHD. My grandson has now been prescribed medication which has worked and he is a lot calmer. However, what my daughter has found is that he is unable to get to sleep at night. Once he is asleep, he is ok. I did try an aromatherapy massage on him using lavender but he couldnt stop talking and wriggling. My daughter said it had no affect on him at all. The following evening I performed the same massage on another 8 year old boy and he actually fell asleep on the massage bed. I used Roman Chamomile on him so maybe that might work on my grandson.

You're welcome. I suggest giving the lugol's solution a try if you continue having difficulties getting him to sleep. All it takes is a very small amount to work wonders. It helps one to relax, and be calm. I've known of many who have taken it in place of prescribed medication with great results.
