All about lavender

I'm a big fan of the scent of lavender so as well as growing it in my garden, I use 100% pure essential oil frequently. 100% pure essential oil has a slightly floral, fresh scent. It's energizing and relaxing at the same time; a wonderfully balancing oil.

The scent of lavender rejuvenates and inspires a tired person, achieving true relaxation, it soothes and slows down someone who is stressed or tense. I use it for minor wounds, burns, sun chapped lips, and skin irritations; as it quickly and safely reduces pain and inflammation.

I also use it quiet my mind when I have a hard time falling asleep. What I do is add 5 drops to a hot bath for a blissful retreat and then put 2 or 3 drops of lavender on my pillow.

For fresh smelling laundry, I put 2 drops on my laundry dryer sheet and in the wash water, I keep a lavender sachet in my drawers, and on occasion add a drop to the water reservoir of my iron. Two drops on my hair brush rejuvenates my hair and scalp.

It's a great additive to almost any cosmetic and can be added to any bath, body, hair or skincare product.

If you use other oils, you can blend Lavender nicely with Chamomile, Neroli, Rose Geranium, Clary Sage, Juniper berry, Tea Tree, Cypress, Fir Needle, Pine needle ,Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime, Mandarin, Orange, Tangerine.

Studies have shown that Lavender oil encourages new tissue growth and is an effective treatment for cellulite. I have also sprinkled Lavender on the carpet and vaccumed it up to repel silverfish.
