Acne remover/facial wash:
If you apply just enough to your face, the acid in the lemon is enough to clean and dry out the acne on your face. All you need is a cup of unsweetened lemon juice and with a paper towel, apply it all on your face. It works for all kinds of blemishes and not just acne!

Guitar cleaner:
Oh yes, guitar hero. You can clean almost any kind of guitar with just a simple dose of lemon juice. Lemon juice can remove almost all kinds of dirt on the guitar and other stringed instruments. And as a bonus lemons can also give that wonderful shine to those guitars that any rock star needs to strut on stage!

Insecticide:
I bet you never heard of this amazing function of the lemon. When you suddenly find yourself in the outdoors and in a severe need of some insecticide, fear not! Boiling lemon juice or extract and placing it in your tent, you'll find yourself with a good night's sleep. Mosquitoes begone!

Sore Throat Solution:
When your throat is having it, it's not a problem! Especially if you have the trusty lemon by your side. Whenever your throats get plugged, just gather some juice and cut some lemon peel into small pieces. Heat the mixture and add honey for some sweetness. After this, watch your throat clear up in no time!

2. Perfect Lemonade Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar (can reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup water (for the simple syrup)
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 3 to 4 cups cold water (to dilute)

Method

  • Make simple syrup by heating the sugar and water in a small saucepan until the sugar is dissolved completely.
  • While the sugar is dissolving, use a juicer to extract the juice from 4 to 6 lemons, enough for one cup of juice.
  • Add the juice and the sugar water to a pitcher. Add 3 to 4 cups of cold water, more or less to the desired strength. Refrigerate 30 to 40 minutes. If the lemonade is a little sweet for your taste, add a little more straight lemon juice to it.
Serve with ice, sliced lemons.

Serves 6.

The secret to perfect lemonade is to start by making sugar syrup, also known as "simple syrup". Dissolving the sugar in hot water effectively disperses the sugar in the lemonade, instead of having the sugar sink to the bottom.

3. Lemon for Aromatherapy

The Fresh, tangy scent of lemon is unmistakable, This well-loved citrus fruit, grown in Mediterranean, has been used for many years in natural home remedies from scenting clothes to treating warts!

Lemon oil is extracted from the fruit's peel. Maximum yield of oil are obtained from the lemon when it is unripe and still green in color.

Lemon oil has the ability to lifts spirit, open the mind and invigorate. Prepare for the day ahead by adding 2 drops of each lemon and rosemary oil plus 1 drop of lavender and bergamot oil to the bath or shower floor, then feel the benefits as you breathe in the oil rich system.

Lemon is also antiseptic and antibacterial. Vaporizing it in a burner will help to prevent the spread of infection in a sickroom and will boost's patient immune system.

Insect repellent are repelled by the scent of lemon, a natural and effective deterrent can be made by vaporising 2 drops of lemon oil with 2 drops each of geranium and bergamot oil.

4. Lemon Juice Experiment

The amount of saliva you produce after putting a drop of lemon juice on your tongue might tell you something about your personality whether you are an introverts or extroverts.

Try this simple test with your friends and family and compare your results.

You need : Lemon juice , Kitchen scales, Cotton wool balls.

This is what you need to do:

  • Put a large drop of lemon juice on your tongue and swill it around your mouth for ten seconds
  • Use the cotton wool balls to mop up all the saliva that you produce
  • When you’ve mopped it all up, put the cotton wool balls on your kitchen scales and see how much they weigh
  • Compare your results with your friends and family, and see whose weighs the most

We expect that you will find:

  • That introverts produce a lot of saliva in response to lemon juice
  • That extraverts don’t produce much saliva in response to lemon juice

In our test, the introverts produced 50% more saliva than the extraverts. But it’s worth bearing in mind that there are lots of other factors that affect saliva production, such as time of day and how thirsty you are.
